Love in America

It is getting nicer outside, which means it is almost time to cut my hair! Instead of just throwing it away, I donate my hair to "Locks of Love." This is what my blog is about today. "Locks of Love" is a non-profit organization that started in 1997. They provide hair pieces for financially disadvantaged youths that suffer from medical hair loss. There are recipients all over the United States and Canada. I personally believe this is an amazing cause.

In order to donate, your hair must be:
-at least 10 inches
-in a ponytail or braid when cut
-must be shipped in a certain way

Most people assume that they have done something to their hair so that it cannot be used. However, hair that has been dyed, permed, cut long ago, layered, and even curly hair pulled straight are all acceptable. I realize that there are some who would like to help but don't have long enough hair. You can donate with check or credit card, too. Hopefully, some of you will tell other people you know about "Locks of Love."

Just Say Yes

This weekend I decided to tackle my cooking "to do" list :)

The first new creation was a special cookie! It is actually an Oreo cookie inside of a Chocolate Chip cookie. It my be really unhealthy, but it is really delicious. You can use your favorite Chocolate Chip recipe. I used the recipe on the back of the chocolate chips. Then you simply make two dough balls and wrap them around an Oreo. You bake them at 350° F for 12-15 minutes.

I can tell you they are super delicious. For anyone who wants to make them: Good Luck!!

Also, tomorrow I will be making souffles with Beekman 1802 BLAAK Cheese. If you want to see how that turns out you can check out Beek Geeks page. I'll be posting pictures there! *fingers crossed*
