Love in America

It is getting nicer outside, which means it is almost time to cut my hair! Instead of just throwing it away, I donate my hair to "Locks of Love." This is what my blog is about today. "Locks of Love" is a non-profit organization that started in 1997. They provide hair pieces for financially disadvantaged youths that suffer from medical hair loss. There are recipients all over the United States and Canada. I personally believe this is an amazing cause.

In order to donate, your hair must be:
-at least 10 inches
-in a ponytail or braid when cut
-must be shipped in a certain way

Most people assume that they have done something to their hair so that it cannot be used. However, hair that has been dyed, permed, cut long ago, layered, and even curly hair pulled straight are all acceptable. I realize that there are some who would like to help but don't have long enough hair. You can donate with check or credit card, too. Hopefully, some of you will tell other people you know about "Locks of Love."
