Blame It On Me
We apologize immensely to anyone who reads our blogs. We are in the middle of figuring out what we want to do with this blog, which direction we want it to go with it. Should be on a normal schedule by March, April at the latest.

You're A Mean One Mr. Grinch!

My brother, Joey, is in the Army. This year, he spent Christmas in Germany due to a delay in exiting Afghanistan. Luckily, he has some great friends so he was not alone. Also, he may have missed Christmas, but my brother will be home this weekend. Just in time for New Year's Eve! :)

In other Christmas news! I received many gifts.
Clothes, slippers, a blanket, tons of candy, and...... A MR. COFFEE!!!! xD
I definitely went out to buy K-cups for it and I highly recommend the Pumpkin Spice cups from Green Mountain Coffee!
Anyone that knows me, knows that I am very particular about my coffee. My family thought I was crazy for being so excited about a coffee maker. However, after brewing a cup for my mother, there was no more discussion.
Minus the absence of my brother, Christmas was generally a success. Not just because of my Mr. Coffee though. This Christmas I got to see just how wonderful my little cousins are. When discussing presents with Desi, 11 years old, she told me that she did not want presents for Christmas. She just wanted her cousin Joey home.
This Christmas has renewed my hope for children today. Plus, it showed us all that there are certain times where you just have to go with the flow because things do not always work out. Also, it showed me that I can have a delicious cup of coffee without going to Starbucks. :P

All I Want For Christmas Is You
So, this year has basically flown by and towards the middle Gela and I got a bit sidetracked .... Sorry!!
We've still been busy with Beek Geeks and everything Beekman 1802 related. Speaking of which, congratulations to Brent and Josh, who got engaged on December 16th. We've also been busy with school. Cannot believe this semester is already over! And we met a new friend, a super talented guy named John, who we will feature in another post.
I hope you all had a very happy holiday, whether it be Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, whatever! I myself had a very great Christmas . I'm actually typing this on my new iPod Touch <3
I also got some DVDs, like Horrible Bosses and my all time favorite tearjerker, Where The Red Fern Grows. My grandparents also got me a new peacoat. I got a second copy of the Beekman 1802 Heirloom Cookbook! And more clothes. My aunt and uncle are visiting for New Year's, so I'll probably get some movies and books from them. We spent Christmas dinner with my grandparents and earlier in the day I Skyped with one of my best friends, Mikey :) That was the one thing I really wanted, Mikey home for the holidays, but we just couldn't make it work, so maybe next year.
I hope that we can stay up-to- date with the blog in 2012, maybe we'll do fewer posts throughout the month. We'll figure something out! Have a wonderful last few days of 2011! See you next year.

All Gone to Hell
Ohhhh my. There has been quite a significant amount of time since our last blog. And we apologize. We started back at school. This semester has been crazy for this kid. I have a multi camera production class, which means I'm learning the basics of live television editing. A mass media and culture class, in which I spend a majority of my time discussing The Fabulous Beekman Boys. An environmental literature class, just for fun. A theatre appreciation course, which I am rocking. And finally a writing for radio, television, and film class. I just finished a PSA for that class today.
As for Gela, she has also been busy. She has a class on Wednesday nights that is two and a half hours long. UGH.
Of our most recent adventures, we have met comedian Lee Camp and former Full House star, Dave Coulier. Both did shows at our campus. They were amazingly lovely people and super fun to talk to.
Ummm. We have acquired a bunch of new friends this semester, because *SHOCKER* we are actually DOING things. We went to a Drag Ball, hosted by Open Minded Unity (the gay-straight alliance on campus) And we met an amazing group of people. Also, we have met a vlogger and you all should check out his channel: Will's Doing It!

Where Are You?
I think maybe we're the worst bloggers of ALL time. I can't believe we didn't blog at all this summer. Next week we are back at school, what kind of students only blog during the school year? This summer has gone by extremely fast. I held a job at CDP --which I believe I mentioned before-- in the production department. I was a Mac editor and it's pretty easy to explain what I did: I converted video files, edited the baseball games, burned discs, packaged and shipped them to the teams. Good times, I will probably go back there next summer.
In our spare time, Gela and I discovered the wonderfully amazing and talented ANDY GRAMMER. And our best friend Mikey got to see him in concert at the Grove. He got VIP passes, met Andy and got him to say "hi" to Gela and myself. This will be in a future episode of Gay Today for all to see.
And oh yea, this kid will be seeing him on September 5th at the NYS Fair!! Woot, woot! I think I may actually die of excitement. I cannot wait to meet him, unfortunately Gela cannot come with me-- but have no fear, there will be awesome presents for her (and Mikey)
Speaking of Mikey. He's super famous now, he was on CNN's segment when they talked about Bert and Ernie being gay. Check that out HERE
Other than that, my Beekman Heirloom Garden had a little success. I grew my own radishes, spinach, tomatoes, carrots, beans, and squash. There is still a possibility of green peppers and cucumbers, but my turnips did not do well at all. And we got all our hay in our barn, with a few minor setbacks (weather, broken machinery, work schedules, etc)
I guess that's all for now, and do not fret. School starts next week, so our blog will be back and better than ever.

Here It Goes Again
It seems like it has been FOREVER. But I'm back. And it is May 25 2011. Today is World MS Day. MS is Multiple Sclerosis, I myself do not have this disease, but someone in my family does. I did participate (with Gela) in this year's local Walk MS. We raised over $800 which goes towards funding research for MS. If you do anything today, please look at more information about MS and how you can help raise money for research at the National MS Society. In other news. Gela and I are going in a hot air balloon later. Which is beyond scary and so extremely awesome at the same time. Tomorrow is one of the most amazing days ever: THE HANGOVER PART 2 opens in theatres. Unfortunately I cannot go at midnight, but I will be going opening day with some friends.
Ed Helms is pretty much my comedy dream man. I fell in love with him during the first Hangover movie. He's the reason I started watching The Office. And he even "introduced" me to my friend Crystal--fellow lover of Mr Helms.
And I got a job for the summer. I will be working in the Production Department at Cooperstown Dreams Park. I'll share a little info about the park, because I know that you all are dying to know what goes on there.
If you don't already know, Cooperstown is the home of the Baseball Hall of Fame. The whole town is pretty much baseball oriented. The park is for youth teams that play in a tournament for 13 weeks (all summer) --there are about 98 teams per week, making it about 1274 teams throughout the summer. It also is the home of the American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame, which every team member will be inducted to. I guess that is all for me. Saturday there will most likely not be a blog because Gela and myself are going to Sharon Springs for the 2011 Garden Festival--which includes a tour of the Beekman farm.

Love in America
It is getting nicer outside, which means it is almost time to cut my hair! Instead of just throwing it away, I donate my hair to "Locks of Love." This is what my blog is about today. "Locks of Love" is a non-profit organization that started in 1997. They provide hair pieces for financially disadvantaged youths that suffer from medical hair loss. There are recipients all over the United States and Canada. I personally believe this is an amazing cause.
In order to donate, your hair must be:
-at least 10 inches
-in a ponytail or braid when cut
-must be shipped in a certain way
Most people assume that they have done something to their hair so that it cannot be used. However, hair that has been dyed, permed, cut long ago, layered, and even curly hair pulled straight are all acceptable. I realize that there are some who would like to help but don't have long enough hair. You can donate with check or credit card, too. Hopefully, some of you will tell other people you know about "Locks of Love."

Just Say Yes
This weekend I decided to tackle my cooking "to do" list :)The first new creation was a special cookie! It is actually an Oreo cookie inside of a Chocolate Chip cookie. It my be really unhealthy, but it is really delicious. You can use your favorite Chocolate Chip recipe. I used the recipe on the back of the chocolate chips. Then you simply make two dough balls and wrap them around an Oreo. You bake them at 350° F for 12-15 minutes.
I can tell you they are super delicious. For anyone who wants to make them: Good Luck!!

Also, tomorrow I will be making souffles with Beekman 1802 BLAAK Cheese. If you want to see how that turns out you can check out Beek Geeks page. I'll be posting pictures there! *fingers crossed*

ET
First of all, Gela would like to issue an apology for not blogging on Saturday--but it was a hectic day for her.
I am currently enjoying some delicious Chobani strawberry banana yogurt.
This yogurt is epic because it is made in our hometown, I live about 5 minutes from the Agro-Farma plant and Gela lives about 30 seconds away from it. I wish I could give you more details about the Greek style yogurt, but I am not an expert in that field. Their website is completely helpful though.
This week has been a very film oriented week so far. We watched the original Arthur, because of lover of all things entertainment friend, Mikey, suggested it. We definitely suggest everyone sees THIS version of the movie before seeing the remake. It's a charming tale, that has some fun twists and turns. Dudley Moore and Liza Minnelli portrayed such lovable characters. We also went out (shocking!!) and saw Paul. There are no words to describe how much we LOVED it! We left with our minds blown. It was shocking--so original with fun movie tie-ins for nerds. Check out the trailer:

Oh yea....some final words about Paul--Bill Hader (best known from SNL) was absolutely gorgeous!
Thursday is the Grey's Anatomy Music Event! Any excited people out there, besides me?! The first full song, Chasing Cars performed by Sara Ramirez, Kevin McKidd, and Chandra Wilson, is so beautifully done. I cannot wait to see how the rest of the cast does.

Let It Snow
First of all, if you remember from last week, Gela and I went to the opera. And let me just tell you The Marriage of Figaro was BRILLIANT. It was so good that we decided to go twice, the second day was even a Thursday (which is a huge deal since that is our night for the best television shows). My life got a little bit better because I had a package arrive last week:
The Season 1 DVD of The Fabulous Beekman Boys!
As we pondered about what to cover today, Gela and I are enjoyed a snack comprised of grapes and cucumbers--which is way more delicious than it sounds. Our Saturday blog said that it was almost Spring, though if you looked out our window you'd never guess it. Yes, as shocking as it is, Upstate New York is experiencing another fun day with snow showers.

- Season 2 of The Fabulous Beekman Boys premiered
- Elizabeth Taylor died at age 79
- Our friend sent us this epic GLEEK video

Ch-Check It Out
There is a hot new show called “An Idiot Abroad” on the Science Channel. I thought that this show would be completely ridiculous and annoying; however, it is now one of my favorites! Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant send Karl Pilkington to see the 7 Wonders of the World.

The point of the show was to see if Pilkington would be able to see the world in another way. While he complains a lot, Pilkington does learn a great deal about different cultures and countries. The best part of the show is that you get to see the truth about life in those countries. Make sure you check the show out! Episodes are available on iTunes.

Also, I have recently become addicted to "how to" make up videos on YouTube. I stumbled across a video that shows you how to do Strawberry nails. These nails are really cute and pretty easy to do. The YouTuber- Bubzbeauty- shows how to do all sorts of nail, hair, and make up styles. Check out her channel!
Hopefully you enjoyed this blog and sorry about the randomness!!! xD

It Gets Better
Besides it being our three month friend-iversary with Mikey, I thought there would be nothing to blog about today. I also realized that most of our posts lately have covered issues of "pop culture" which is something that we said we'd only occasionally do. We are going to get back into our roots and find things that NEED coverage because they aren't getting the coverage they deserve. Then I saw this post on Yahoo! News this morning about a blog called "Born This Way" --it was like a gift from heaven. This blog is "a photo/essay project for gay adults to submit childhood pictures and stories, reflecting memories & early beginnings of their innate LGBTQ selves". To me this is a thing of beauty, because it proves that being gay is not a choice--looking at these young children can inspire everyone, including questioning gay teens. Both Gela and I are straight, but believe in equality for all. It was perfect that this was posted today, because it is an Action Hero day at our college. I guess to continue with the theme of gay rights, I will discuss the Supreme Court ruling in the Westboro Baptist Church case. Even though they are clearly spreading a message of hate, these people have free speech protection under the First Amendment. "Speech is powerful. It can stir people to action, move them to tears of both joy and sorrow, and -- as it did here -- inflict great pain. On the facts before us, we cannot react to that pain by punishing the speaker," Chief Justice John Roberts wrote for the majority. I completely agree with having the right to express themselves--but there should be clear limitations here. Amazing that America can be called the "land of the free" when people have the RIGHT to protest at military funerals--yet homosexuals still don't have marriage equality, isn't it?
To learn more about the Westboro Baptist Church, check out this documentary by Louis Theroux: The Most Hated Family in America . As much as these people disturb me, I can't help the fact that I am FASCINATED by them. Their lifestyle, their beliefs, their leader, their children. It all just amazes me, how can people have so much hate inside of them? The Westboro Baptist Church also happens to be the subject of my speech for my Intro to Communication class--in case anyone was interested. For those people who are fans of marriage equality, you should check out the lovely Robbie & Allen. They have entered the Ultimate Wedding Contest presented by Crate & Barrel.

Teenage Dream

There is a new show starting on NBC tomorrow night. DiCaprio and I are very excited about it. The show is "America's Next Great Restaurant"! The same people that gave you "Top Chef" and "Project Runway" have created a show where everyday people are fighting for the chance to see their dream restaurant become reality. The prize is the beginning of a restaurant chain - in Hollywood, Minneapolis, and NYC.
The restaurant concepts are funded by Bobby Flay, Curtis Stone, Steve Ells, and Lorena Garcia. They are not just investors! The pros will be helping the contestants define their concepts and put them through tests to see which restaurant will become "America's Next Great Restaurant."
Watch the premier episode tomorrow at 8/7 c on NBC!

Paparazzi
I know what you're all thinking, "holy wow this blog is actually being posted on time!" Gela and myself have some topics we'd like to discuss. What a week of "huge" entertainment news. What were you doing on Sunday night? If you were like much of America, you were watching the Oscars, waiting in anticipation for SOMETHING to happen. And like most of America, you were probably bored. We are covering the most talked about issues. And let's begin with the elephant in the room--how high and/or drunk was James Franco? He was in his own little world throughout the entire show, so mellow and emotionless. We would like to thanks Pop Culture Passionistas for pointing out that Anne Hathway changed outfits SEVEN times during the show. Another major discussion point, how awesome was Melissa Leo's F-Bomb?! Congratulations for being the first person ever to do that at the Oscars.
Zachary Levi and Mandy Moore's performance of "I See The Light" was just--for lack of a better word--adorable. We're always impressed when actors can actually sing. Finally, our last major point of interest was that Christian Bale forgot to say his wife's name when thanking her, which in turn led every single person after him to make sure they thanked their significant other. He did seem choked up, so we'll let him slide.
Another bit of "news" is that Charlie Sheen has finally snapped, but we may wait until Saturday to cover that story. So we'll leave you with this:
Oh and don't think we didn't notice the terrible fashion choices of the evening... our top three worst were (3) Florence Welch, (2) Melissa Leo and (1) Cate Blanchett's "Faberge Egg" dress (thank you Mikey).

Remember The Name!
Before I begin the blog, I would like to apologize for it being a day late. I had some homework to do and did not have time to write the blog.
Now, we would like to tell you NOT to forget about the NewNowNext Awards! Voting is still going, it closes March 4th. The Fabulous Beekman Boys, Brent Ridge and Josh Kilmer-Purcell, were nominated for “Most Addictive Reality Star.”

If you don’t know who they are, you can find out about them at Planet Green’s website and Beekman 1802. You can tweet for the boys using #RealityBoys or vote on the page. Another one you should vote for is TJ Kelly using #IndulgeTJ.

TJ was nominated for “Best New Indulgence” and he’s got some strong competition. You can find out about TJ and the show he’s on, The A-List: New York, at Logo TV. TJ made a great video about his award nomination that you can watch here.

Jealous of My Boogie
Honestly, I did not realize that it was Wednesday until I just updated my status saying the Modern Family is new tonight. Gela and I are enjoying our "February Break" this week. In our plethora of spare time, we created a fun dance montage for our friend Mikey, which can be seen above.
We have also been introduced to some new movies. TCM is becoming a new favorite channel, bringing to our viewing pleasure: The Bad Seed, Born Yesterday, The Goodbye Girl, and the end of What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? To sum up our favorite movie out of the list, we'll leave you with: "You gimme those shoes, they're my shoes. Give them back to me, you give them back!" Tuesday night we watched the horror classic, Candyman on Showtime. That was a particularly disturbing movie, to say the least.
It's been very slow around here, but March should bring about good weather and trips to Sharon Springs. And speaking of Sharon Springs, Farmer John and Jason have new products in their online store. Items like the new silo door towel hanger (which I will be purchasing) and the hand braided rug.
